They're no open Sundays at all!!
Spent some time sorting out the kids old toys and clothes. Broken or worn out stuff got recycled; and with the good stuff thought I'd take it here; so other people could get use out of it and make a little bit of money for the charity.As I struggled in to the store with 2 big boxes, I am greeted with the sound of someone running from the back shouting "if that's bric a brac we can't take it!". Well, firstly it wasn't bric a brac and secondly, even if it was I am sure there would be a nicer way to tell me that the store cannot accept everything.I explained what was in the boxes to which I got a gruff "ok" and boxes were begrudgingly taken from me. It felt like me donating things was a cause of inconvenience for the staff, rather than something they actively want.Barnardo's - your cause may well be a 5 star one; but my experience of trying to support it was definitely 1 star. Will donate elsewhere next time.
